Maximize Your Multivitamin: What to Look for in a Daily Supplement

You may feel overwhelmed by the sheer variety of multivitamins out there on the shelves and wondered what, exactly, you should be looking for. If that’s the case, here’s some good news: we’ve sorted out everything a multivitamin should be and conveniently included it in Clinical Essentials®.

Bioactive B Vitamins
B vitamins might seem common enough, but the truth is, the ordinary varieties of B vitamins may not be doing much good. That’s because most standard B vitamins need to be converted into a usable form by the liver after being absorbed in the digestive tract.

But this process isn’t always very efficient. As just one example, it can take a lot of the common form of vitamin 12, cyanocobalamin, to yield even a small amount of active B12, methylcobalamin, after conversion by the liver. Plus, you may have difficulty converting common B-vitamins due to age, genetic influences, or a host of other factors. What you really want are B vitamins that are already in the forms the body can use, to support healthy metabolism, energy levels, healthy blood sugar† and blood pressure levels†, and your nervous system.*

Vitamin D3
If you spend a lot of time indoors, live in a northern latitude, or are over 40, getting supplemental vitamin D3 is important: it supports a strong immune system, healthy bones and teeth, mental well-being, and cognitive function.*

Like B vitamins, the form matters here, too. Vitamin D3, cholecalciferol, is the type that the body synthesizes after exposure to sunlight. Vitamin D2, ergocalciferol, needs to be converted by the body into vitamin D3, so starting with D3 just makes good sense.

Vitamin E—the Whole FamilyLearn more about our Clinical Essential Multi-Vitamin products
Real vitamin E includes the full family of mixed tocopherols, including—and not only—d-alpha tocopherol. This is the way vitamin E is found in foods, and it’s best for supporting your heart, immune system, and cellular health.*

Chelated Minerals
Minerals are truly essential: they support a healthy heart, bone density, immune responses, healthy metabolism and blood sugar levels.*† Clinical Essentials provides minerals that are chelated (bound) to the amino acid glycine for enhanced absorption. Known as The Real Amino Acid Chelate System, or TRAACS, these are premium nutrients not found in most daily multiples.

The Right Nutrients Let You Flex Your Multiple
While once-daily multivitamins may seem convenient, they simply can’t deliver enough effective forms of vitamins and minerals in just one tablet, capsule, or gummy.

Clinical Essentials is designed to be taken more than once daily to mirror the way we normally get our nutrients from foods more than once daily. And if you want, you can double the dosage to two tablets twice daily, and still have nutritional “room” for additional formulas that may be a part of your regimen.

†Supports healthy levels already within normal range. TRAACS™ is a trademark of Albion Laboratories, Inc.
